Duration: 1 to 3 years (CDD contract) starting July 2008. Location: Paris-North (Saint Denis)
Context: The hosting team is a team specialized in optical metrology, laser physics, coherentwww.revefrance.com
spectroscopy, nonlinear optics, precision measurements and instrumentation. In order to enhance our
research potential and warrant the daily advancement of the on-going projects on lasers and coherent
optics, we hire an experienced post-doctoral fellow with an outstanding background in one or severalwww.revefrance.com
of the following fields: coherent optics, laser physics, nonlinear optics and dynamics, precision
measurements in optics, coherent spectroscopy, experimental implementation of data acquisitionwww.revefrance.com
software and analysis. The candidate will have to insure the follow-up of the on-going research
projects in close coordination with the project leader, keep the deadlines and assist efficiently thewww.revefrance.com
project leader. One of his duties will also consist in training a graduating student. He must bewww.revefrance.com
autonomous, dynamic and show initiative and rigour in conducting his tasks and duties. One the
project under his responsibility (Breath analysis project) is a 3-year term project co-funded by the
European Union (Euramet-IMERA+ program) and the Laboratoire National de Métrologie et d'Essais

Candidate profile: A PhD degree in physics, with at least two of the following specializations:www.revefrance.com
· laser physics and engineering, matter-wave interactionswww.revefrance.com
· nonlinear optics and dynamics, quantum opticswww.revefrance.com
· Atomic and molecular physics (AMO), optical clock metrology
· Coherent laser spectroscopy – high resolution; trace gas detectionwww.revefrance.com
· Electronics (Analog/digital electronic servos) and software programming
· Instrumentation and (precision) measurements
The job fits an experimentalist profile, with eventually skills in theoretical computing. A specific
experience with laser sources and OPOs would be an added-value, as well as an experience with tracewww.revefrance.com
gas detection using optical methods. An experience with data acquisition software and programming
(e.g. LabView) would be welcome. Candidates having a past experience in research laboratorieswww.revefrance.com
